How We Track Prop Firm Rules

Methodology for live attributes — sources, cadence, and quiz impact.

SiteBartar Research · Updated June 2026

What we track

Hard constraints used in the constraint engine: news trading policy, overnight/weekend holds, drawdown type (static vs trailing), daily loss limits, instrument lists, and US residency acceptance.

Soft attributes for ranking: typical payout cadence, challenge path options (one-step, two-step, instant), headline profit splits, and scaling paths.

We do not track unverified Discord rumors or influencer claims — only citable official sources.

Out-of-stack firms may appear in insights for research but are not quiz recommendations unless added to the active pool.

Sources and verification

Primary: rule PDFs, FAQ pages, and checkout terms on official firm domains (ftmo.com, topstep.com, apextraderfunding.com, fundednext.com, the5ers.com).

Secondary: dated changelog posts or support announcements when firms publish them — we screenshot or archive key versions when rules shift.

Community payout reports inform editorial context but do not override published denial policies.

See editorial-standards for affiliate independence — commissions never change attribute values or match order.

Update cadence

Scheduled review: all in-stack prop attributes at least monthly.

Event-driven updates: when a firm publishes rule changes (news windows, drawdown calc, US product access), we patch attributes and note updatedAt on affected content.

Quiz impact: constraint changes may eliminate or promote firms for users with matching hard rules — retake recommended after major updates.

prop-firm-rule-changes insight summarizes recent moves; this page documents the process.

Limits and your responsibility

Rules change without prominent marketing announcements — always verify live PDF at purchase time.

Program-specific paths (Stellar vs standard, swing vs normal, bootcamp vs high stakes) may differ within one brand — our attributes target primary quiz paths; verify your SKU.

We do not guarantee payout approval, pass rates, or that our snapshot matches your account type.

Report discrepancies via site feedback — we investigate against official docs.
